The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) provides free, evidence-informed online suicide awareness training designed to help ordinary people feel more confident recognising the signs and starting a conversation.
The course can be completed online, at your own pace, and takes approximately 20–30 minutes. On completion, participants can also receive a certificate.
The aim is not to turn people into counsellors. It is to give more people the awareness and confidence to recognise when somebody may need help and know how to respond.
The Mary O’Gara Foundation was established in Mary’s memory to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention.
Mary’s story reminds us that someone can appear happy and confident while struggling privately. The Foundation encourages people to look beyond the smile, start conversations and recognise when someone may need support. Through suicide awareness training, we aim to give more people the confidence to know what to do.
Yes. The course is entirely online and can be completed at your own pace, wherever is most convenient for you.
