Mary O’Gara Foundation

In honour of our beautiful Mary.

Our Aims...

Suicide Prevention, Awareness & Education

Our strategy is simple, suicide prevention via awareness and education and driven by our primary aim and responsibility to save lives.

Working closely with our chosen charity partners, Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) and Living works we are offering free/fully funded Suicide Prevention training sessions across the north west and these are available to Schools, Colleges, Universities, Youth groups, local industry, public health sector, faith communities and any other organisations that work with or support young people (up to the age of 35) and these will be funded by the Mary O’Gara Foundation. For more information on the free training please contact us via our contact page and we will respond with details of how to enrol or via the training link above.

The sad truth is 4 school children a week in the UK are lost to suicide – so it is vital that all those supporting these young people are equipped to help those children get the support they need.

We as a family have now undertaken this training, and whilst it may be too late for us, it isn’t too late for another family to still have their loved one with them.

Nothing we do can ever bring our beautiful baby girl back but by making suicide prevention everyone’s responsibility we can try and help save a son, daughter, grandchild, niece, nephew, cousin, colleague, friend and even a stranger. TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE LIVES and build suicide safe communities. Please don’t wait until it’s too late.

We understand the importance of prevention. By providing the right support and the appropriate early intervention we can help those feeling suicidal to seek the help and care they need to keep safe. Please take a look at our training page to educate yourself with the practical tools for recognising signs and offering support which could one day save a life.

Hold on to the good days
